My project is going to analyze the similarities and differences of police corruption in season one of The Wire (2002) and We Own This City (2022). Both shows have multiple law enforcement figures that negatively affect the force, the community, and civilians alike, which hinders the effectiveness of policing in Baltimore, MD, the setting for both shows.

I will be looking at Wallace, from the hit HBO tv show, The Wire and how his unintended consequences can relate to DACA. Wallace was underprivileged and unable to escape his unfortunate predicament, much like how children in the Dreamers program feel.

Every day, a team of chemists test samples collected by police officers across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to verify that they are illicit substances. But how can we ensure that these chemists are conducting accurate tests? This project explores the Drug Lab Scandals that plagued the commonwealth in the early 2010s and assesses what internal controls can be used to prevent similar tragedies from occurring again.

I am looking at different forms of police energy and finding if there is a correlation between Baltimore median income. Then I will compare it to what Baltimore has down wrong over the years to try and fix the war on drugs and look at the new methods and solutions to help solve the war on drugs.

Boston Public Schools has weaknesses in student academic achievement and growth, chronic absences, English Language Learner (ELL) progress, transportation, and properly serving the most vulnerable students. The state wants to take over power over the schools but Boston Public Schools have submitted an improvement plan looking to strengthen their school system, so the question I’m looking to answer is will this improvement plan resolve these issues?
